Description
Our yooperlite bowl is a showstopper with its magnificent orange glow! This small bowl is great for holding gemstone chips, smaller sized sphere holder (not stable, but we do it in our homes occasionally for the unique style), or for use as an offering bowl on your altar. It features a classic style with its marble-like colors and patterns, but turns into a marvel when the UV hits it. Don’t miss out!
This yooperlite bowl is a WYSIWYG.
For those who are unfamiliar with WYSIWYG, it means: What You See Is What You Get. Pieces identified as WYSIWYGs are not a random pull of stones that are similar to the one(s) pictured. Instead, you receive the actual piece that is pictured.
A Bit About Yooperlite
Yooperlite is a fluorescent syenite rock found in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, specifically in the Lake Superior region. You can also find it in other regions of the world as well. Its chemical composition includes sodalite, anorthoclase feldspar, and sometimes amphibole. Classified under sodalite-syenite, yooperlite exhibits a unique fluorescent response under UV light due to the presence of fluorescent minerals like sodalite. This phenomenon makes yooperlite a fascinating and visually striking choice for gemstone décor, especially when carved into gargoyles or other decorative pieces. If you would like to learn more about sodalite-syenite, click this link.
Yooperlite is Sodalite-syenite. For this reason, I have included the metaphysical information for sodalite. Google-Fu (your search engine search skills) may be useful, too.

Please Note:
- Sizes and weights are approximate. Dimension sizes can vary based on the way the rock is formed. We hand measure our pieces on the longest side. Please see the pictures in the listing.
- The colors may vary due to monitor and lighting differences.
- Please use your own judgment when allowing children to handle.
- Not suggested for use in animal habitats or fish tanks.
- UV Notes: For gemstones, 365nm is the best for UV lighting. Only some specimens illuminate under the other part of this spectrum (370-400nm). This is why some pictures are not as clear for our UV reactive pieces. Our current lights are at 365nm, but used to be 395mm only. For home use, the 395nm is less expensive, but in some cases, will need a zoomed beam on the flashlight style UV lights. If you do use a 365nm light, please take care to use eye protection.
