Take a look at the patterns on these malachite slices! Aren’t they incredible? These polished malachite slices are great for either a collector’s specimen or to turn into spectacular cabochons.

Beads and cabochons are often either faked with resin or plastic (they are very light), sometimes glass, or malachite powder may be mixed with other materials to make reconstituted malachite (these are also light). Malachite specimens are much more difficult to fake. Malachite tumbles that are fake tend to be obvious.*
