About Kunzite

Kunzite is a variety of spodumene. Kunzite is generally considered to be pink. However, there are colorless forms of kunzite. Colorless forms of kunzite are still considered to be kunzite, even though they lack the characteristic pink color typically associated with this variety of spodumene. Kunzite is a specific variety of spodumene that is known for its pink to lilac hues due to the presence of manganese impurities. The colorless variety of kunzite is sometimes referred to as “white kunzite” or “colorless kunzite,” but it is still classified as kunzite based on its chemical composition and crystal structure. The absence of color in these specimens does not change their classification as kunzite within the spodumene mineral group.
